Exclusive from TK O'Brien's is a new all solid wood dulcimer. Walnut throughout with a spruce or walnut top. Great for the casual or beginning dulcimer player, it comes in at a reasonable cost and is available with or without a case/beginners book. Dimensions are 34 1/2 inches long, 7 1/8 inches wide lower bout, 1 3/4 inches deep and the fretboard is a comfortable 1 1/2 inches wide. The scale length is 25 1/2 inches. The vaulted fretboard increases resonance. The nut is glued in. The bridge is a floating style that is not glued in but is marked on the sides of the fretboard so that when you change strings you align it with the marks. A floating bridge is helpful when over time you need to make changes in the bridge position to correct for intonation changes. Strings are TK O'Brien's and sizes are melody .012, middle .014 and bass .024.
