The baritone has beautiful rich tones. It has 30 strings, is 25 inches long, 9 inches wide at the base, and has a 2 inch deep sound box. Weight approx. 4 1/4 lb. Made in the U.S.
On the right side, the natural notes start at F2 (first F below middle C) and go up 2 + octaves higher to A4. This psaltery uses a combination of wound and plain steel ball end string for optimal note pitch.
The bookmatched top is walnut or cherry. Back and sides are walnut, cherry or sometimes another wood. Walnut is a dark brown wood. Cherry is a medium toned pinkish brown wood. Sapele is a reddish brown wood that looks like mahogany.
Dots at the C notes help give position reference.
We package each instrument with a walnut bow, rosin, spare strings, gooseneck tuning wrench, beginners instructional/song booklet TK O’Brien’s Guide to Playing the Bowed Psaltery and a nice padded heavy duty nylon carrying case.
